Trust & Safety at PsychAssist

Our Commitment to You

At PsychAssist, we believe your practice’s security and your patients’ privacy come first. Period.

Here’s what that means in plain English:

  • Your data stays yours – We’re just helping you manage it better
  • We use AI to help you work faster, not to make clinical decisions
  • We exceed HIPAA requirements, not just meet them
  • You control who sees what – always
  • We build everything with security-first thinking

Data Security & Privacy

How do you protect my practice’s data?

We use bank-level encryption for all data, both in transit and at rest. Our infrastructure is built on SOC 2 Type II certified systems, with regular third-party security audits. You can choose to use our secure cloud storage or connect your own compliant repository.

Who owns the data?

You do. Always. We’re simply providing the tools to help you manage it more effectively. You can export your data anytime, and we maintain clear data ownership boundaries even in shared practice settings.

AI Implementation

How does PsychAssist use AI?

Our AI is designed to handle administrative tasks – summarizing intake forms, transcribing sessions, and helping with report writing. It never makes clinical decisions or diagnoses. You maintain full control and review over all AI-assisted content.

Is my data used to train the AI?

No. Your practice’s data is used only to provide services to you. We don’t use patient data to train our AI models, and we maintain strict separation between our AI capabilities and your clinical data.

Compliance & Certifications

What compliance standards do you meet?

We’re fully HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified. Our platform meets both US and Canadian healthcare privacy requirements, and we maintain compliance with state-specific regulations for psychological practice.

How do you handle audit trails?

Every action in the system is logged in a tamper-proof audit trail. This includes system-generated actions, user access, and AI assistance, providing you with legally defensible documentation.

Practice & Patient Privacy

How do you handle multi-provider practices?

Our platform supports individual practitioners, group practices, and shared DBA arrangements. Each provider maintains control over their own records, with clear data separation even in shared practice settings.

What about patient access and rights?

Patients can securely access their own information through our patient portal, with granular controls allowing you to manage what information is shared. All patient communication is encrypted and HIPAA-compliant.
